To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade his plans to clear the significant backlog that is delaying persons receiving a passport in a prompt and efficient manner, if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the current delays are causing significant hardship and if extra staff are being recruited or allocated to urgently deal with the issue.
