In the programme for Government a commitment was given to implement the report of the Committee on the Future of Healthcare, known as the Sláintecare report which was published last May and which has been repeatedly referenced by the Minister for Health, the Taoiseach and Mr. Tony O'Brien. The single most important part of having the report implemented is the establishment of an implementation office which will drive implementation of the report and, it is to be hoped, improve the health system over a 10-year period. When will the implementation office be set up? It is critical to ensure implementation of the report.
