We need to know why it was that the successful applicant was seated at the table of decision at the time of decision. We need to know why the new Taoiseach, Deputy Varadkar, breached Cabinet confidentiality - as it seems to me - compromised the sole constitutional prerogative that the Minister, Deputy Flanagan, has set out in a conversation with the leader of Fianna Fáil, not a member of Cabinet, albeit he is keeping all of the Government Ministers in Cabinet, on a matter of an appointment to the Bench.
