-----so what is he doing? One puts the responsibility on those who make the decision. At the end of the day, it is the European Council.

Deputy Boyd Barrett raised the matter of the veto. We have a veto, because it has to be approved eventually be the entire European Council. Ireland has a veto, along with every other country if they so wish, and that is contained clearly within the rules and regulations. If at the end of the day, when it is all over and done with, and a proposition comes - the European Parliament will have its say - to the European Council, if Ireland is not in agreement, Ireland has a veto, the same as everybody else-----
