Secure Rents and Tenancies Bill 2016: Second Stage [Private Members]

 

In an emergency, one passes emergency legislation. Fine Gael did that during the banking crisis but nobody seems to have copped that there is a housing crisis and that children are being affected. Emergency laws should be passed to confiscate or compulsorily purchase buildings that are sitting idle in this city and elsewhere. That is not being done, and it has not been opposed by us on local authorities. If that was done-----
