-----but having said what I have said in regard to those issues, of course the Commissioner will want to clarify as much as she can, as I will based on the information I have at any given point, to reassure the House that whistleblowers are now dealt with properly. The former Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Deputy Howlin, brought forward the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 which now means that, instead of being dealt with within An Garda Síochána, a whistleblower has access to an independent investigation if he or she has complaints.
