It is disappointing the Minister of State has dismissed many of thee amendments. I do not believe amendment No. 47 is adequate in just extending the contracts to two years. Unless that is tied to the CPI, it is not worth the paper it is written on because there has to be some control. Unfortunately as new people come in, they will be charged differently from the people who are supposedly being protected. It lacks bite and will not work, as the Minister of State will see very shortly.

Amendment No. 48 increases the time period for notification for new rent to 90 days. Many people have an awful job trying to get themselves sorted out when they receive notification. I think it is a sensible move to increase it and give a reasonable amount of time. I would also support that measure.
