To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport further to Parliamentary Question No. 18 of 23 September 2015, if his Department relies solely on assurances from foreign airlines and militaries that personal weapons permitted on board civil aircraft used by foreign militaries, under the Air Navigation (Carriage of Munitions of War, Weapons and Dangerous Goods) Order 1973, are unloaded, and that there is no ammunition on board the aircraft; if so, if he is satisfied that such assurances are sufficient to ensure that no breach of the legislation occurs; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
