That would have been the appropriate and proper thing to do. However, he did not do that. He did not give the Garda Commissioner the opportunity to give his side of the story. He did not consult properly with the Minister for Justice and Equality. He did not do it the straight way; he did it in another way and now he has denied all of that. The Taoiseach has yet to even acknowledge that he was sent for by the Fennelly commission more than once.
