Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil rely on it sometimes, as does the Labour Party when it suits it. We have always called for the idea that anyone who can be should be linked into a public water network. Attempts should be made to do that in rural areas. People should be brought into the public system as much as possible. Where it is not possible, people should be given grants for payments towards their group water or individual scheme. This was raised in the last water charges battle.
