The Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government is in the process of launching a new policy on the end of life for used tyres. The Minister has refused to engage with or meet one of the key representative bodies, the Independent Tyre Wholesalers and Retailers Association. He is introducing a monopoly in this area. Why or how does the Government think it can bring forward a comprehensive policy without fully engaging with one of the key stakeholders?
