The national disability equality specialist support agency, DESSA, is being forced to close its core services due to the sudden announcement by Tusla that it will no longer fund DESSA to deliver essential frontline services and supports to the families of disabled children nationwide. This is a disgraceful cut which will have a dramatic negative effect on these people. DESSA is calling for a meeting with the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Deputy James Reilly, to discuss the immediate reversal of this decision.
