Order of Business

It is proposed to take No. 6, Thirty-fourth Amendment of the Constitution (Marriage Equality) Bill 2015 - Order for Second Stage and Second Stage, to adjourn after two hours if not previously concluded; and No. 6a, Misuse of Drugs (Amendment) Bill 2015 - Order for Second Stage, Second and Remaining Stages. It is proposed, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, that the Dáil shall sit later than 9 p.m. tonight and shall adjourn on the conclusion of No. 6a; the following arrangements shall apply in relation to No. 6: the opening speeches of a Minister or Minister of State and of the main spokespersons for Fianna Fáil, Sinn Féin and the Technical Group, who shall be called upon in that order, shall not exceed 15 minutes in each case and such Members may share their time, the speech of each other Member called upon shall not exceed ten minutes in each case and such Members may share their time, and a Minister or Minister of State shall be called upon to make a speech in reply which shall not exceed five minutes; the Second and Remaining Stages of No. 6ashall be taken tonight and shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion after three hours and the following arrangements shall apply: the proceedings on the Second Stage shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion after two hours, the opening speeches of a Minister or Minister of State and of the main spokespersons for Fianna Fáil, Sinn Féin and the Technical Group, who shall be called upon in that order, shall not exceed 20 minutes in each case and such Members may share their time, the speech of each other Member called upon shall not exceed ten minutes in each case and such Members may share their time, and a Minister or Minister of State shall be called upon to make a speech in reply which shall not exceed five minutes; the proceedings on the Committee and Remaining Stages shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion after one hour tonight by one question which shall be put from the Chair, and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only those set down or accepted by the Minister for Health; and Private Members’ business, which shall be No. 70, Thirty-fourth Amendment of the Constitution (Presidential Voting) Bill 2014 – Second Stage, shall not be taken today and shall be taken at 6.30 p.m. tomorrow evening and the proceedings thereon shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion after three hours on that day.

Tomorrow’s business after Oral Questions shall be No. 6, Thirty-fourth Amendment of the Constitution (Marriage Equality) Bill 2015 - Second and Remaining Stages (resumed); and No.a11, motion re Statement for Information of Voters in relation to the Thirty-fourth Amendment of the Constitution (Marriage Equality) Bill 2015. It is proposed, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, that No. a11 shall be taken on the conclusion of No. 6 and shall be decided without debate.
