During the course of business yesterday, the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport made it clear that a serious issue has arisen in the context of the imposition of penalty points. He indicated that he is awaiting comments from the Attorney General on the matter and stated that there may be a requirement to introduce emergency legislation.
