To follow up on Deputy Martin's point, last week the Taoiseach advised the House that there would be a debate on the report of the Fiscal Advisory Council, which specifically deals with the budgetary outlook for 2015. It contradicts much of what we have heard from the Government in recent weeks regarding its budget plans. It seems extraordinary that the Taoiseach seems to have changed his mind and is now informing the House that a debate will take place after the budget, which would be pointless and futile. Perhaps the Taoiseach could clarify.
