As a result of all of this, Mr. McNulty has been subjected to great pressure. From that point of view, he has formally requested that Oireachtas Members do not vote for him.
I also do this because, as I said, I am standing here as a Taoiseach who also happens to be the president of the Fine Gael Party, and this process is beneath our standards. It does not measure up to the integrity and the way in which we have conducted ourselves at elections.
