To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the reason the original ban on turf cutting in designated areas throughout the country was so widespread, in view of his recent announcement on the matter; if he will state the total allocation for compensation from his Department to turf cutters since March 2011; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
