Criminal Justice (Forensic Evidence and DNA Database System) Bill 2013: Second Stage
1:10 pm
Niall Collins (Limerick, Fianna Fail) | Oireachtas source
It will be following Deputy Mac Lochlainn in a minute.
The oversight committee must be used to copper-fasten the role of international exchange standards. One cannot allow any weakness in the levels Ireland demands of data protection. This Bill is a welcome measure in the battle against serious crime. Members cannot relent or use it as an excuse to strip away resources. It will only work with a dedicated and committed Garda behind it, fully pursuing the criminals who threaten the safety of this country. I look forward to further discussing the Bill on Committee Stage.
