To ask the Minister for Defence the number of promotional opportunities that have arisen in the Defence Forces in each of the past three years to date; the number of such positions filled by women; the extent to which women are represented within the Defence Forces as a proportion of overall strength; the extent to which numerical representation is reflected in the course of promotions throughout the period in question; the extent to which similar opportunities are likely to be filled in the future; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
