I welcome the useful debate last night and tonight. As the Minister said, there is no proposal to be put to the House because the Government has not come to a view on the matter. The way in which the Minister has handled the issue in looking for expert opinion and advice is the way to go. I very much agree with Deputy Stephen Donnelly who claims he has no ideological bent on this issue. We must do the right thing for the country at a very difficult time. When we were in opposition, we spent a considerable period of time working on solutions to problems, rather than just producing speeches and an analysis of problems.
