To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the reason the 1944 Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention) and Section 33 of the Air Navigation and Transport Act (1988) have been regularly used to impede peaceful protest and monitoring of US military planes at Shannon Airport, but no action has been taken under Article 16 provisions of the Chicago Convention in relation to the searching of planes suspected of involvement in renditions or arms transportation; and when this situation will be rectified.
