While the debate on this motion has understandably focused on the issues that have arisen in regard to SUSI, there are a number of broader questions contained in the motion tabled by Fianna Fáil. In its short 18 months in existence the Government has already established a strong track record in education, from protecting SNA and resource teacher numbers to ensuring that more than 40% of students remain exempt from the student contribution and substantially increasing the number of training places available for the unemployed.
