Constitutional Convention

What on earth does the Taoiseach need a constitutional convention to deal with reducing the age of voting to 17 and reducing the term of the Presidency to five years? I suggest the discussion on both issues would take one hour each. The Taoiseach should just do it. The age should be reduced to 17 or even 16 since young people are, unfortunately, increasingly victims of the policies of Government, the bailout and austerity.
