Having consulted the officials, the Deputy's assessment of the legislation as it stands now is correct in the context of the alterations being made in terms of the ages of the children and how that dictates the entitlement to these supports from the State. None of the amendments impinges negatively in any way upon the provision whereby the payment will continue after the death of a spouse.
