Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Nicky McFadden - the status of the building project in respect of Coosan national school, County Westmeath; (2) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the need to include a new school building for Clifden community school, County Galway, in the five-year building programme; (3) Deputy Joan Collins - the need to maintain funding in respect of personal assistance services; (4) Deputy Timmy Dooley - the need for a replacement paediatric neurologist at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, Limerick; (5) Deputy Brian Stanley - the implications for turf cutters of the European Commissioner, Janez Potocnik's, response to the national plan for Ireland's raised bog special areas of conservation; (6) Deputy Seamus Kirk - the need to increase the total allowable milk production allocation before 2015 in order to avoid increasing the super-levy bill; (7) Deputy Brendan Griffin - proposed new fees at Dingle Harbour, County Kerry; (8) Deputy Michael Healy-Rae - proposed new fees at six fisheries harbours, namely, Castletownbere, Dunmore East, Howth, Killybegs, Rossaveal and Dingle; (9) Deputy Eoghan Murphy - the attempts to locate an Irish citizen missing in Rishikesh, India, since February; (10) Deputy Simon Harris - the need to improve facilities at Greystones Garda station, County Wicklow; (11) Deputy Jerry Buttimer - the introduction of penalties for landlords and tenants when there is anti-social behaviour in rented properties for which the Department pays rent allowance; (12) Deputy Willie O'Dea - the need to intervene to bring an end to the dispute at Irish Cement following its failure to follow Labour Court recommendations; (13) Deputy Derek Keating - the need to put in place emergency response procedures following recent deaths at a private nursing home in County Donegal; (14) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the need to finalise alternative accommodation arrangements for the Defence Forces Reserve following the closure of Kickham Barracks, Clonmel, County Tipperary; (15) Deputy Denis Naughten - the need to take action to alleviate the rising cost of fuel; (16) Deputy Martin Ferris - the impact of the proposed new berthing fees on marine tourism and fishermen; (17) Deputy Niall Collins - the basis for the awarding of the water services contract to Bord Gáis; (18) Deputy Robert Troy - the need to reverse the recent decision regarding the pupil-teacher ratio; (19) Deputy Kevin Humphreys - the need to review the eligibility criteria for labour activation measures; (20) Deputy Charlie McConalogue - the need to explain and reverse cuts to schools in the delivering equality of opportunity in schools, DEIS, programme in County Donegal; (21) Deputy Patrick Nulty - plans to establish a national water metering system; and (22) Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett - plans for water meters and water charges.

The matters raised by Deputies Jerry Buttimer, Kevin Humphreys, Eoghan Murphy and Seamus Kirk have been selected for discussion.
