The creation of employment and investment in the economy is the Government's main priority. Later we will announce a number of initiatives to progress our strategic investment strategy. The Government will announce significant reforms in the semi-State sector to ensure it will be an engine for investment and job creation. We will take a total portfolio approach to the State companies. The setting up of a shareholder executive operation within the National Treasury Management Agency, NTMA, to be called NewERA is modelled on similar arrangements in other countries, including one established by the last Labour Party Government in the United Kingdom.
