The Tánaiste will be aware that Europe has woken up to the fact that bankers are not the only scandals in suits in the financial crisis. The draft regulation has surfaced this week pointing the finger very decidedly at auditors. They say there is no longer any trust between the clients of auditors, the public and the Government because auditors have betrayed that trust particularly in the financial reporting of financial institutions.
