A number of legal firms have placed advertisements in Irish journals in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, as Members will be aware. Even if a person was so badly damaged from his or her experience as to be unable to make a proper application there was no shortage of lawyers prepared to do it. It had to be brought to an end. Since we stated the final date to be 16 September, an extra 2,676 applications have been submitted.
