The Taoiseach and his Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health, who are beside him, solemnly pledged to secure the emergency accident and emergency services for the people of Roscommon and the greater district. It is a sorry set of circumstances in which three of the most senior members of the Government are shamelessly prepared to resign from their solemn pledge and pretend it is excusable to do so. They should be referred to as the "Roscommon Three" from now on, or perhaps "the troika".
