On Wednesday last I raised the crisis which is developing in the health services because of the shortage of junior doctors. I stated that there would be at least 400 vacancies and that this will have a devastating effect on front-line services beyond 11 July. I asked the Taoiseach to make a statement on this and he declined to do so. It struck me that the Taoiseach did not know what was happening. It struck me also that the Minister for Health did not know what was happening.
