Under the legislative programme for summer 2011, the Central Bank (supervision and enforcement) Bill is envisaged to provide for the enhancement of financial regulation, expanding the supervisory and enforcement powers of the Central Bank. Given the unique situation of a currency with multiple central banks, I would be asking that the legislation should come in part from Europe and that it should give us some guidance as to loan to values for mortgage providers.
