We should examine those levies and the detail of what Sinn Féin is proposing. The detail of the income levy is that somebody who earns between €15,000 and €75,000 pays 2% of their income. The detail of the health levy is that somebody who earns between €26,000 and €75,000 pays 4% of their income. The cumulative total is 6%. That is the total that needs to be paid when the two levies are combined. Sinn Féin is now proposing to get rid of one charge, which involves the imposition of a levy of between 6% and 7% on somebody on the average industrial wage, and replace it with two old levies, the combined effect of which would be the imposition of a levy of 6%. Is Sinn Féin being clear? I do not see such clarity in its motion or on its website, on which this proposal is advertised.
