With the exception of the members of the Government, perhaps, everybody agrees that the country needs certainty, stability and the election of a strong and stable Government. It is neither desirable nor in the country's interests for that process to be prolonged. Can the Tánaiste give the House the date for the publication of the finance Bill? How long is it intended to spend considering the finance Bill in the House? What is the date on which it is intended to dissolve the Dáil? The answers to those questions will determine how we respond to the various issues that are before us today.
