Will the Taoiseach address the matter of the timeframe of the work in hand? Does he have any idea at this moment in time when the current process of drafting and consultation with the various Departments and the Office of the Attorney General will conclude? Will there actually be a product and, thereby by extension, a determination as to when a referendum would follow?

On an unrelated issue but with regard to past referenda referred to, the Taoiseach's predecessor indicated a very strong determination to bring about an improved increased involvement on the part of Irish citizens North of the Border in the electoral process in this State. He had signalled his hope to bring about a situation where Irish citizens North of the Border would be able to participate in presidential, Dáil or Seanad elections or any combination of all three. Nothing was done on that. However, rightly there is continuous reflection on the importance of the Irish diaspora globally and the Taoiseach has invited many successful figures from that diaspora-----
