I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the hypocrisy of the Government, which is blaming the potential reduction in accident and emergency hours on the working time directive rather than the Government cutbacks in front line staff, which will endanger the lives of the 1.2 million people who visit accident and emergency departments annually.
