Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32
10:30 am
James Bannon (Longford-Westmeath, Fine Gael)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the shameful disregard for the people of this country, particularly those who are ill and infirm, shown by the Minister for Health and Children and her Department in refusing to answer parliamentary questions and representations tabled by politicians who are anxious to get replies and action on behalf of their constituents. While it would perhaps have validity to refuse to answer questions from Government Deputies, it is surely counter-productive, even opportunistic, to refuse to reply to Opposition Deputies.
