Nomination of Members of the Government: Motion (Resumed)

-----whose party in the Federal Republic is in coalition with the Deputy Durkan's party in Europe. He said: "I think there is a deeply rooted trust and confidence in this country's ability to sort out its problems ... There is a fundamental belief that the Irish are going to solve it ..." They are political views; they are not manufactured views. These are reactions to visible decisions made by an Irish Government and these are the responses around the world to these decisions. Commentators from these countries have been equally impressed by the decisions of the Government. Take the view, for example, of the Citi chief economist Willem Buiter, who said Ireland's intelligently designed approach to restoring fiscal stability is a model of how to do things. Martin Wolf, the chief economics editor of the Financial Times said last month, that he admired very much what the Irish policy makers have done. He said they really do seem to understand the implications of being in a monetary union.
