Is a simultaneous process taking place here, one under the aegis of the Taoiseach and another, a Lanigan's Ball type affair, at the behest of the Green Party? Will the Taoiseach clarify exactly what is taking place because it appears, from media reports, to be a case of someone stepping in and stepping back out again?
