Special Ombudsman's Report: Statements
Tom Sheahan (Kerry South, Fine Gael)
I also wish to raise another matter. Of 17 applications from County Donegal, only one was successful. Of 14 applications from County Kerry, only one was successful. Of four applications from County Galway, two were successful. They were constituents of the then Minister. If he maintains that everything he did was right, then the ombudsman must be wrong. Like my colleagues, I invite the former Minister to appear before the committee to have an honest, open and frank debate. Either he is wrong or the ombudsman is wrong.
