Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32
4:00 pm
James Bannon (Longford-Westmeath, Fine Gael)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the danger to public health that will be caused by the estimated 12% drop in income for the Irish Cancer Society this year, given that 7,000 people died from cancer last year, the number of newly diagnosed cancer cases is increasing by 7% each year and the survival rate in this country is 10% lower than in the best performing EU countries.
