It is a considered proposition put forward by the House. As has been said by others, it is a matter for this House in its democratic debate to decide on the merits or otherwise of this legislation. We are very strong supporters and advocates of this legislation. We believe it is essential as part of the response of this country to the challenges we face today. That is the Government's position and we wish to proceed with it on that basis. We look forward to a debate that can be constructive, if people wish it to be. People can hold strong views one way or the other, but it is through the democratic debate of this House and the primacy of this House in compliance with the rules that apply to us to all that we will perhaps ensure that the people of this country see that this Assembly discharges its duty properly.
