Newspaper reports state that the Cabinet has agreed to proceed with the communications regulation Bill to deal with regulating premium rates services. Concerns have been expressed to me about the inadequacy of this Bill. Will the Taoiseach indicate when it will be published? It is very important to deal with scamming in the area of premium rate operators who are taking advantage of the looseness and current lack of regulation. There is not much point in bringing in a Bill if it will not reach the mark.
