In the context of the growing concern of people who hold fixed mortgages will that issue be addressed compelling the banks and other financial institutions to provide for a transfer from fixed to variable mortgages without the penalties currently applying? Will either the financial services (miscellaneous provisions) Bill regarding the building societies in the first instance, or the financial services (regulation) Bill address this matter? If not, will the Government consider bringing forward legislation recognising that there is significant public disquiet that measures have been taken to assist the financial institutions-----
