Supplementary Budget Statement 2009
5:00 pm
Arthur Morgan (Louth, Sinn Fein)
There is no justice in the budget. Fianna Fáil and the Green Party have cynically targeted workers who survive on a little over €41 a day. They have targeted young families who are struggling to meet their child care costs and pay their mortgages. They have targeted teenagers who receive jobseeker's allowance. The removal of the December bonus that is given to those in long-term receipt of social welfare will force vulnerable families into the hands of moneylenders.
