I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, that the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform urgently adopt the key recommendation of the report by Mr. Paul Coffey, senior counsel, into the 1981 Stardust tragedy; that the Government correct the public record by placing on the record of the Dáil and Seanad an acknowledgement of the tribunal's findings that there is no evidence that the fire was started deliberately and that the cause of the fire is unknown; and, given the tragic loss of 48 young lives in this disaster and the ongoing 28-year fight for accountability and justice by the Stardust Victims and Relatives Committee, that all the recommendations in the Coffey report be implemented as a matter of priority.
