I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to discuss a matter of extreme importance, namely, that the quota issued to Irish fishermen for December will mean the annual quota for some species will not be filled because fishermen were not permitted to fish at other times of the year. This places enormous pressure on them to go to sea at a time of the year when weather conditions are particularly hazardous.
