Health Bill 2008: Second Stage

The withdrawal of the medical card from the elderly has been a disaster for the elderly, who will lose their cards, as well as for the Minister, the Government and Deputy Behan. It has been a fiscal disaster in the sense that it was originally intended to save €100 million but we have just heard that it will save €16 million.
