I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of local and national importance, namely, the need for the Minister for Transport to make an urgent statement to the House on whether he has been briefed on any proposed programme of cutbacks to Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus services and jobs and whether his Department or his colleague, the Minister for Finance, have suggested any series of cutbacks for public transport companies and operators, in particular in view of plans to improve the modal shift to public transport.
