Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32
10:30 am
Aengus Ó Snodaigh (Dublin South Central, Sinn Fein)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of urgent national importance, namely, the need for the Government to introduce legislation to regulate management companies that are ripping off mortgage holders in new apartment and housing complexes. In light of the increasing job losses and rising home repossessions, the Government must protect mortgage holders from management companies that impose exorbitant fees and must ensure that responsibility for the maintenance of new complexes is handed over to local authorities within a reasonable timeframe.
