Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32
10:30 am
Seymour Crawford (Cavan-Monaghan, Fine Gael)
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the urgent need to have a full discussion on the failure of the Government to provide sufficient funds to cover the subvention needs of the elderly and disabled in nursing homes. The increased nursing home charges imposed for 2008 are not being covered, causing serious grief and hardship to the most vulnerable. Nursing homes must bear the increased cost of food, oil and other services the same as everybody else. This issue must be dealt with before the Dáil rises.
